Never Out Of Style....
Juice Newton known for her impact on the pop, as well as the country music scene, exhibits diversity in her music as well as her stage show. Juice keeps her performances varied with the energy of her top-notch touring band, and the intimacy of an acoustic setting. Otha Young, Juice's longtime musical partner and songwriter, said, "With the band we have now can give the audience the full spectrum of Juice's music."

That spectrum is wide but identifiable. Juice Newton, through her pop and country hits, her distinctive voice and entertaining performance skills, continues to captivate audiences from teens to grandparents, from the city to the country. As a music critic stated, "Newton remains one of the most riveting performers in music, rocking on stage and playing each emotion for what it's worth. And it's worth a lot." double arrow

Juice's musical tastes were developed early. She grew up in Virginia Beach, where her Navy upbringing exposed her to a variety of musical influences. She could be found singing in area coffee houses developing her emotional, heartfelt folk songs. Juice went west for college and formed a folk-rock trio in Northern California. The trio developed a large following and became known as Silver Spur. Otha Young, Juice's longtime partner and songwriter was also a member of this eclectic, unique trio.

Because of their growing popularity, Silver Spur was told to go south. No, not to Nashville, but to Los Angeles, where after constant work in area clubs, they were signed to RCA. Their experience with RCA led them to Capitol records where Juice made her mark with such hits as "Angel of the Morning," "Queen of Hearts", and her first country hit, "The Sweetest Thing." Through the mid-eighties, she followed these hits with "Break It To Me Gently" , which won her a Grammy, "Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me", and "A Little Love". A second signing with RCA produced a string of top 10 country hits such as "You Want To Make You Mine", "Hurt", "Old Flame", "Cheap Love", "Both To Each Other", "Tell Me True", and "What Can I Do With My Heart?".

"Newton remains one of the most riveting performers in country music, any music, rocking on stage and playing each emotion for what it's worth". Juice and her band take the audience on an emotion filled ride from the stirring stillness of "The Sweetest Thing" to the rollicking "Love's Been a Little bit Hard on Me," with a big dose of other Juice favorites as well as her ever expanding repertoire. Lacy J. Dalton

Biography
Ever wondered what would happen if you could combine Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and Joan Baez into one performer? Ever wondered what equal parts “Country” and “UFO” would create? Look no further than Lacy J. Dalton.

She’s one of the most instantly recognizable voices in music - the woman People magazine called “Country’s Bonnie Raitt.” From the first time Lacy J. Dalton caught the public’s ear, that soulful delivery, full of texture and grit, was a mainstay of country music. When you sit down to listen to a Lacy J. Dalton album, you find yourself pulled in by the very power and heart in this vocalist, because she’s not merely performing a ten-song set, she’s bringing each and every tune to life.

Lacy J. Dalton’s music is a product of her wide-ranging musical tastes. She was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, into a family of music lovers. Her father played a variety of stringed instruments, sang and wrote songs. Her mother played guitar and sang harmony, and her sister was a pianist. Lacy’s early influences were the folk and rock sounds of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. She’s always been a writer and artist who loved music with a message and lyrics that somehow brought a new awareness to the listener. She retains this love of material with a purpose, and her songwriting reflects that appreciation.

Her latest album “The Last Wild Place Anthology” adds another 5 million-hour airplay hits in addition to the songs from her “The Last Wild Place”, the CD that was Lacy’s first move back to her singer-songwriter roots since leaving Nashville, and showcases Lacy’s remarkable voice and writing talents at their finest. The music is heartfelt, acoustic-based, Americana/Folk and ranges from the quiet introspective to the rollicking good time.

Lacy is an innovative and creative artist with a great deal of real-life experience and an earthy honesty that is reflected in her work. Her voice: captivating. Her songs: spellbinding. Does that sound corny? Sure it does! But don’t you owe it to yourself to find out what's in store for your "Welcome to the Last WIld Place"? Lacy J. Dalton's Website

Julie Lee & her White Rose Band
Biography
Let me give you a little background information on myself and the band.
I grew up on a farmstead outside of Hillsboro, ND. I’m
third oldest of a family with nine children. My folks had an
old time band during my growing up years, which brought
much music into our home.
My sisters and I did a lot of singing at church, showers
or school functions, most of the time in three part
harmonies. I took piano lessons in grade school and
started clarinet when I could join band. With high school
came a chance to be in stage band, so I asked my Dad if
he would buy me a sax because there were no clarinets in
stage band. I loved playing the saxophone best of all.
One of my favorite memories was of a typical Sunday
night when Dad would get out his guitar, Mom would sit by
the piano and they’d sing those old songs together. Music,
as you see, was always a big part of my life. I will always
be grateful to Dad & Mom for giving me an appreciation for
music.
Julie Lee & her White Rose Band was started in 1995,
and is based out of Fargo, ND. We’ve had the pleasure to
work all the corners of the Midwest and beyond, as our
schedule will show. We perform with a four-piece group for
most of the larger events, where we feature clarinets,
saxes, trumpet, keyboards and accordion. We also do
many smaller venues as a two-piece setting.
Our music features a wide variety of styles, from
country, big band and 50’s, to old-time waltzes & polkas.
Our focus is to play good “dance” music. Depending on
what venue we’re working at, we can bend more on the
country side, big band side or old-time side, whatever is
required.
Our performances have now expanded into Arizona for
a minimum of four to six weeks in the winter months. We
have had a great response there and many of the folks we
play for throughout the Midwest become snowbirds in the
winter and we see them down in the Mesa area. Each year
we meet more people to add to our list of “friends.”
To all the friends I’ve met through my music, thank you
so very much for all of your support over the years. I’ve
enjoyed every minute of it and cherish your friendships. Julie's Website

Photo of Don & Lee - Brothers 2 Band
Don & Lee - Brothers 2 Band
Biography
Actual brothers Don and Lee Kanten play good time rock and roll, ballads, love songs, beach music, and some surprises from as far back as the 20s. Their musical influences range from the Big Bend Barn Dance to the Beatles, Eric Clapton, and Ray Charles. Lee lays down the bass line, while Don fingers the lead guitar.
They began playing together in 1973, first dabbling in folk music, but soon got serious in Clutch and the Shifters, a 50s show band that lit up Minneapolis and charmed audiences from Florida to Colorado during the 70s. Fittingly, they played brothers in that band and Don’s stage name was Fingers.
In the 80s they formed Spare Change, a five piece band that played special events, weddings, and corporate events. Besides a broad range of material, the band was known for the good time they had on stage and the great time their audiences had watching.
In the 90’s they joined Fat Chance, added Motown material to their background, and played in a barn one night, which brought them full circle, because it was on the Jorgenson farm that they first learned the joy of making music in groups.
Every family gathering was the same--uncles and aunts pulled out instruments as soon as the big meal was over, and tunes soon filled the air. So, when the brothers were just little squirts they’d sit in the darkness, just outside of the circle of players, pull out a ukulele and play along. They couldn’t wait to play in a band.
Their very much older brother, Wynn, learned first and most and he passed along about half of what he learned to Lee and Don. He will join Brothers 2 for the night and will bring along over 40 years of non-stop musical experience. He currently plays in supper clubs around Chicago.
Finally, Steve “Tilly” Thielges will join the group on drums. An old college friend, Tilly grew up in Tracy and has been playing in bands since 1970. He toured with the late great Gene Pitney and plays in the annual tribute to John Lennon at First Avenue in Minneapolis.
What really binds them together, other than a 4 count, is their love for the experience of playing music. Brothers 2 Plus 2 will be a good time to watch and a pleasure to hear.

Biography
Vernon Lund was 13 years old when he bought his first harmonica in a drugstore in downtown. His father played the harmonica by ear so, he encouraged his son to play the same way. Vernon was diligent. He even practiced during recess and soon he learned his first song, "Home On The Range". When he was only a sophomore he gave his first performance at the annual talent show, which was held in the high school auditorium. Soon he acquired an old flat top Hawaiian guitar from his cousin, and with his help of a chord book lent to him by a neighbor, he learned to play guitar while he either sang along or played harmonica. Vernon's first paid performance was before 2000 people at the Shriner's convention, in Watertown, SD. He was still in High school. Vernon next went into the service and ended up in Colorado Springs, where he bought his electric Hawaiian steel guitar. After he was discharged, he came back to the area where he played old time songs and dances at special events & in various bars and dance halls. Much later he added the hi hat drum and officially became a "One Man Band". Over the past 20 years Vernon has entertained extensively at threshing shows both in MN and SD. The Pure Country Band
Biography
The Pure Country Band was first formed on December 31st, 2004 for what was to be a one night engagement only. A New Year's Eve party at a small tavern in Parkers Prairie, MN. The response was good that night and other opportunities soon followed. From the start the three piece band intended to cover songs from the 40's to the 70's , an era when country western music had a lot of heart and soul. Striving, in song, to remember such legends as Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Marty Robbins, Lefty Frizzell, Hank Snow, Ferlin Husky and many many others. The memories that the songs bring back to people is a large part of the reward the band experiences. Meeting new people and seeing old friends on a regular basis makes for a great time with great fans. Founding member Gary Gylsen sings lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar. Gary's immense song repertoire and historical knowledge of these legends delivered with a deep, warm and melodic voice entertains both young and old. Gary also writes and performs some of his own songs and last year he reached a personal goal when he was invited to perform on stage at the Midwest Country Theatre at Sandstone Minnesota and featured on RFD TV.
Also with us is original lead guitarist and vocalist Henry "Hank" Higgs . Along with his soothing vocals Henry's guitar rifs have a flavor reminiscent of Luther Perkins himself .
Keeping the beat is Dan Winter on drums, backup vocals and providing the sound production necessary for an enjoyable audio experience.
In addition to their full-time jobs, the guys enjoy playing 60-70 shows each year, entertaining folks at weddings, anniversaries, parties and barn dances and are also regulars at many local VFW's, Eagles and other dancehall clubs.
Weekends, good friends, making music, dancing and having fun. Pure Country Blessings, to be sure!
